The Society is highly committed to its responsibility for educating the public about the life and work of Thomas Chippendale.

With the assistance of the Heritage Lottery Fund and four country houses across Yorkshire, the Society developed an e-learning website to encourage young people to find out about Thomas Chippendale. Although the site has been designed to be especially useful for schools and individual children, we hope that it will be found interesting and appreciated by a wider audience.

The website includes film footage of both marquetry and gilding techniques that are executed in exactly the same way as they would have been during Chippendale’s time. You can see them by clicking the buttons below.
